program is CSWE accredited and prepares you for generalist practice in social work. This means you who will be trained to assist individuals, groups, and communities function successfully, helping them deal with a vast array of obstacles.

With Belmont's Social Work Program, you will:
  • Develop generalist social work skills and techniques in: crisis intervention, group-work, problem-solving with individuals and families.
  • Apply generalist social work skills in working with specific populations such as children, the aging, those affected by substance abuse.
  • Gain real-world social work experience with field work placements in local social service agencies.
  • Explore the study of spiritual formation for the individual as the social worker, examining the importance of acknowledging the spiritual with clients, and addressing issues that one must be sensitive to and work with using the strengths perspective.
  • Develop social work problem solving, with a focus on community development, organizational management, leadership, and grant writing.
