Dr. Lakisha Simmons earned her undergraduate degree in Information Systems from Tennessee State University and MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix. She also holds a PhD in Management Information Systems with a marketing minor from the University of Mississippi.While attending the University of Mississippi, Dr. Simmons instructed an undergraduate Management Information Systems class. Immediately prior to joining the Belmont University faculty, she taught Business Systems Analysis, Intro to Management Information Systems, Business Information Tools, and Principles of Marketing at Indiana State University.Prior to receiving her doctorate, Dr. Simmons held several positions with Caterpillar Financial Services, including Programmer Analyst and IT Business Analyst. She was also responsible for facilitating and applying 6 Sigma methodologies to diverse improvement and implementation projects and trained 6 Sigma Green Belt methodology to project team members. Her research interests include information technology and marketing. Her work has been published in the Journal of Computer Information Systems, Issues and Information Systems, the Journal of STEM Education: Innovations and Research, MIS Quarterly Executive, and International Journal of Business and Systems Research.
