We are in the midst of a wonderful transition at Belmont in relation to recycling!
Fall 2008 Recycling Instructions
Paper
All paper (except cardboard) goes into the hallway bins marked for paper. This includes:- office paper all colors and white envelopes- adhesive, clear windows, etc.
- phone books, magazines ANYTHING THAT TEARS.
- Staples are okay as are other kinds of binding that are not permanent.
- If you have hard cover books you can remove the covers and put the book into the bins.
- five at Massey back patio outside the studio level.
- two in Hitch two in Wheeler two in Fidelity
If you are disposing of a large amount of paper these can be rolled around campus to pick up paper and then returned to their places the same day for pickup. If large amounts of materials are placed in hallways, please put a sign on them if you want them taken to recycling. Housekeeping does not want to remove things we aren’t finished with so help by communicating with them.
Cardboard
Cardboard may be flattened and placed beside the blue and red bins on each hall. If you have large quantities of cardboard, please consider carrying it to one of the nine dumpsters on campus which receive cardboard.
These dumpsters are located:- 2 at the Curb Event Center loading dock (behind the bear)
- 2 behind the Leu Art Building
- 1 behind the Library
- 1 behind Inman (behind gate)
- 1 behind Troutt Theatre
- 1 behind Pembroke
- 1 across the street from Leu behind the cafeteria
Everything else that recycles:
Plastic, aluminum, tin - By placing these items in the hallway bins, you enable housekeeping to take them to the recycling dumpsters on campus. If you have large quantities you may take them to these dumpsters yourself. (see above for locations).
