Belmont University Health Services offers comprehensive Travel Consultations on Wednesdays from 9:00 - 11:30 am and 12:30 - 3:00 pm by appointment only. Consultations are available to students, faculty, and staff travelling outside the country for exchanges, study abroad, mission work, or pleasure. The initial consult is free; patients will be required to pay for immunizations administered. To schedule, please refer to instructions found here. In some cases, Health Services will allow students to schedule Travel Consultations outside of Wednesday, but ONLY if students are unable to fulfill a Wednesday appointment due to class. Please call for more details.
This pre-travel service provides a cost-effective alternative for the campus community. The consult includes not only discussion and administration of recommended vaccines and malaria prophylaxis, but detailed information about possible health and safety hazards specific to the destination and length of visit. Post-travel illness and concerns can also be addressed. It is best practice to schedule a travel consultation between 2 and 4 weeks prior to departure.
In addition to these individual consultations, Health Services can provide a speaker to orient groups contemplating a trip. Please call for more details.
If small groups of students (2-4) travelling to the same country are interested in having simultaneous consultations, these requests may be accommodated, but students must come to clinic. Please call for me details.
Some of the vaccines: Hepatitis A&B, typhoid, Tetanus, polio booster, episodic TB screening, MMR, and meningitis.
Japanese encephalitis and rabies can be ordered on request.
