Director

Katy Wilson APRN, MSN, MBA
Katy is a long time participant in the Nashville health care arena, with more than 30 years of experience as a family nurse practitioner.  In addition to her BSN and MSN degrees, she also graduated with an MBA from the Owen School at Vanderbilt University.Her experience ranges from developing urban clinics in underserved neighborhoods to a specialty focus in both Adolescent and Travel Medicine.  

She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Tennessee and American Nurses Associations, the American College Health Association, the International Society of Travel Medicine, and the Middle Tennessee Advanced Practice Nurses Association.Her community involvement includes the International Business Council of the Chamber of Commerce, volunteer with the Belmont Mansion and the Edgehill Community, member of the Review Board for Career Advancement at Vanderbilt,  and a board member of Sister Cities of Nashville, serving on the Mendoza, Argentina and fundraising  committees.

As adjunct faculty for the Schools of Pharmacy and Nursing, she precepts nurse practitioner and pharmacy students and is the medical advisor for Belmont Study Abroad and the Cooperative Center for Study Abroad.  Besides her interest in international travel, she is passionate about creative ways of providing excellent primary healthcare with an emphasis on cost-effectiveness and convenience.

Kelliann Chidsey, MD, Physician
Kelliann Chidsey graduated from Xavier University in 1990 with a BS in Natural Sciences and Medical University of South Carolina in 1995 with a medical degree. She completed a residency in Internal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 1998. She worked as an attending physician at the Medical University of South Carolina, spent time in private practice, and has been the physician at Belmont University Health Clinic since 2004.Kelliann lives in Nashville with her husband, Geoff, a cardiologist at Vanderbilt, and her two daughters.
 

Megan Cooper, MSN, ACNP-BC. Nurse Practitioner
Megan Cooper graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1993 with a BSN degree. After graduation, she spent a year working in Athens, GA before moving back to Nashville. From 1994 to 1999, Megan worked in the cardiac intensive care unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, while completing her MSN at Vanderbilt.  After receiving her MSN, Megan worked as a nurse practitioner in cardiology for 7 years.  She joined Belmont Health Services in 2007. Megan enjoys the diverse patient population of the university setting.

Megan is a native Nashvillian. She now lives in Franklin, TN with her husband, Brian. She is the mother of two wonderful boys, Sam and Ethan.  She enjoys running, reading, and traveling.

Lisa Scholl, MSN, FNP-BC, Nurse Practitioner
Lisa Scholl graduated from St. Luke’s College of Nursing in 2003 with her ASN, Briar Cliff University in 2005 with BSN, and Belmont University in 2008 with her MSN, Nurse Practitioner. Prior to joining the team in 2010, Lisa worked as a nurse practitioner in oncology for 1.5 years.  She has 5 years of nursing experience mainly in the field of oncology. While completing her MSN at Belmont, she worked as an adjunct clinical instructor for Belmont University adult health class.
Lisa has taken on several roles since coming to Belmont but she is most passionate about helping the community of Belmont become more health. She loves helping educate the students and staff about taking ownership of their health and healthcare at the same time of providing them with quality healthcare services.  Lisa is co-captain of Team Belmont in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk and serves as a preceptor for graduate nurse practitioner students.

A native of Sergeant Bluff Iowa, Lisa currently lives in Nashville with her dog, Belle, and Siamese cat, Mistie Lou. She loves attending sporting events, running, and spending time with friends and family.

Registered Nurses

Julie Hawley, RN, Registered Nurse
Julie Hawley graduated from University of South Dakota with her ADN and worked at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on the pediatric floor unit and in the PICU for 19 years until her move to Nashville in 1998.  She started work at Old Harding Pediatrics as a staff nurse until coming to Belmont in 2005.

Julie appreciates being able to take care of students and staff and strives to make a difference in their healthcare. 

Julie lives in Brentwood, TN with her husband, Kevin, and has 4 children and 3 grand boys. She is involved in the Fabulous Friends for Africa which is a yearly fundraiser for meeting the needs of Africans. She also enjoys running and has completed 3 full and 4 half marathons and looks forward to running the New York City marathon this fall.

Krystal Huesmann, BSN, RN, Registered Nurse
Krystal Huesmann graduated from Grace College of Nursing in 1987 with her ASN and The Ohio State University in 1991 with her BSN. Krystal has worked in student health since February 2005.  
Prior to working in student health, Krystal worked as a nurse in various settings including family practice, home health care, managed care and pediatrics.  She worked as both a marketing representative and manager at Comprehensive Rehabilitation Associates in Nashville, Tennessee as well as nurse manager of Rehabilitation at the Children’s hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Krystal is originally from Warsaw, Indiana and lives in Franklin with her husband, Matt, and their three children. She enjoys entertaining, gardening, cooking, and being involved in her church and her children’s schools.

Cilla Crane, RN, Registered Nurse
Cilla Crane graduated from St Mary’s College in Minneapolis, MN with an AND. She has been working in a variety of health care settings for 25 years, including acute care, oncology, pediatrics and a regional out patient care/teaching facility. Her favorite part of working at Belmont is interacting with the students.

Cilla lives in Franklin, TN with her husband and has two adult daughters. This summer they spent time together in Uganda serving orphans. She spends her free time participating in Fabulous Friends for Africa, Bible Study, book club and enjoying time at Smith Lake.

Office Staff

Valerie Brooks, Office Manager
Valerie Brooks is in her 5th year as the office manager for Student Health Services. Valerie has extensive work experience that covers 30 years.  She attended East Central Community College in Union, MO and Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) in Springfield, MO.  It was at East Central that Valerie met her future husband, Ken, and the two have been married for 31 years.  She has two daughters, Andrea (a 2010 graduate of Belmont) and Olivia (junior at Belmont).  Val is known for her upbeat spirit and for creating a positive work environment in her daily interaction with Belmont students and staff.
