Dr. Kristine LaLonde
Dr. Kristine LaLonde coordinates and teaches the courses for the Honors leadership studies program, Project LEAD. Project LEAD works with students to help them become more effective and engaged citizens through study, discussion, and community-based projects.
Dr. LaLonde attended the University of Michigan and holds a Ph.D. in American History from the University of Virginia. Her academic interests focus on the intersection of faith and moral action in the American context, particularly in the political and social justice arenas. Dr. LaLonde has taught at the University of Virginia, Mount St. Mary's University, Howard University, and Randolph-Macon Women's College.
In addition to her academic work, Dr. LaLonde has worked in journalism, non-profit management, business consulting, and political organizing. Project LEAD allows her to combine her passion for community change with her commitment to a life of intellectual inquiry.
