The Institute for Innovative Faith-Based Leadership is excited to announce the Adolescents in Crisis Workshop. This workshop is focused on the current difficulties and pressures faced by today’s teenagers and young adults.

An in-depth look into the issues faced by adolescents

In a world where violence among young people is becoming increasingly prevalent, G. Wade Rowatt offers solid direction for solutions to many of the issues adolescents face, including sexual promiscuity, substance abuse, depression, and suicide, as well as their sometimes, violent tendencies.  Integrating not only clinical research and experience, but Biblical insights as well, Dr. Rowatt will provide helpful insight and teaching for those who minister to this critical age group within our culture.

Dr. Wade Rowatt trained with Dr. Wayne Oates in Psychology of Religion, Pastoral Care and Pastoral Counseling. Wade has taught Pastoral Care and Counseling for over 40 years. He currently teaches full time at the Baptist Seminary of Kentucky in Georgetown, Kentucky. He retired in June 2009 as Director of the St. Matthews Pastoral Counseling Center after serving 15 years.

Dr. Rowatt earned his B.S. in Mathematics, Computing and Sociology from Southern Illinois University. His M.Div, Th.M. and Ph.D. are from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Rowatt has also done post-doctoral study at the University of Louisville, Department of Psychiatry, Claremont School of Theology (California), The Menninger Clinic for Religion and Psychiatry in Topeka, Kansas and Norton Hospital Department of Psychiatry. He is author or co-author of ten books.  Dr. Rowatt is a frequent speaker and conference leader at hospitals, universities, mental health centers and churches.
