Dr. Paula A. Gill was appointed in January 2013 to the position of vice president of institutional effectiveness. Dr. Gill is responsible for evaluating the university’s progress toward its performance objectives and for seeking ways to improve services and processes that provide value for students. Specifically, she is responsible for the continuous, systematic and collaborative creation of new or significantly improved programs, services, processes and relationships that provide increased service and value for Belmont students and stakeholders.
Dr. Gill has served in numerous positions during her 23 years at Belmont including associate vice president of institutional effectiveness, associate dean of enrollment services, and director of student financial services. She received a Doctor of Education degree and Master of Science degree from the University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Science degree from Belmont University. Dr. Gill is a past president of the National Consortium of Continuous Improvement, an organization whose aim is to advance academic and administrative excellence in higher education by identifying, promoting, supporting and sharing effective organizational practices among the 90 plus member institutions.

In January 2016, Mr. William Ingram joined Belmont as Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer. This new position, which reports to Dr. Paula Gill, Vice-President for Institutional Effectiveness, was created in response to a recommendation from the University’s Vision 2020 Technology Committee, which cited the need for “a leading voice to make decisions about technology.” With experience at dot-com startups, large multinational corporations and seven years in higher education, Will provides visionary, creative and energetic information technology leadership to our campus. He oversees significant areas that collect, process and deliver information in various forms, including instructional technology, administrative computing, infrastructure services, information security, the help desk, and library services.
Will came to Belmont from the University of Texas-San Antonio’s College of Education and Human Development, where he managed all IT resources. His career experience includes positions as an instructional designer, software engineer and cyber security analyst. He holds a bachelor’s degree of computer science-software engineering, and master’s degree of instructional technology from Columbus State University.
- Suzanne ClementExecutive Assistant to the Vice President of Institutional EffectivenessView Bio
Suzanne joined the office of institutional effectiveness in 2014 after spending eight years as assistant to the dean in the college of entertainment and music business. She received a Master of Arts in English from Belmont University and a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Georgia. Suzanne completed a year of PhD English coursework at the University of Alabama and has taught writing courses at Nashville State, the University of Alabama, and Belmont. As executive assistant, Suzanne assists the vice president with administrative functions and provides support for campus wide initiatives like visioning and other ongoing planning and improvement projects.
