Woods Piano Scholarship
The University offers academic scholarships to incoming freshmen. In addition, the School of Music offers a variety of scholarships awarded on the strength of the audition to both incoming freshmen and transfers. There is no application for these scholarships -- they are awarded on an individual basis by the School of Music with the recommendation of the Piano Faculty based on the strength of the audition.
One scholarship in particular is awarded through the School of Music by special audition and does have an application process: The Woods Piano Scholarship. This scholarship was endowed in 2007 by the estate of Marydale Woods and is open to all incoming freshmen and transfer piano students.
To apply for the Woods Piano Scholarship, the prospective student selects one of the announced audition dates, fills out the Woods Piano Scholarship Application (see the link below) and then submits the application by mail along with a letter of recommendation from the current piano teacher.
Here are the general scholarship audition dates for the 2013-2014 school year. Auditions for the Woods Piano Scholarship take place concurrently with these general scholarship audition dates:
Saturday, November 3, 2012
Saturday, January 12, 2013
Saturday, January 26, 2013
