Jazzmin
Jazzmin, directed by Ms. Kathryn Paradise.*
Jazzmin is a 12-member mixed vocal jazz ensemble performing jazz literature dating from early Blues and Swing to Bebop, Vocalese, and Contemporary sounds. Jazzmin attracts students from Belmont's commercial vocal program who have an interest in jazz and wish to learn challenging choral literature. Jazzmin has toured extensively with trips to Atlanta, New Orleans, St. Louis, Chicago and other parts of the deep south, performing regularly on and off-campus throughout both semesters.
A two-semester commitment is required because of the preparation needed for the Spring tour. Rehearsals are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:00pm - 1:50pm. Jazzmin offers one hour of ensemble credit.
