Radu Rusu

Radu Rusu

Mr. Radu Rusu is an adjunct instructor of French Horn in the School of Music.

Mr. Rusu received his Master of Music from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) and his Bachelor of Music degree from 'C. Porumbesu' National Music Conservatory, Bucharest, Romania. He has also completed numerous doctoral courses at the University of Alabama in the Doctor of Musical Arts program. Mr. Rusu has received additional coaching under the direction of: David Pandofi (Principal Horn, Alabama Symphony Orchestra), Brice Andrus (Principal Horn, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra), Michael Thompson and Richard Watkins (Royal Academy of Music, London, England), David Ohanian (Canadian Brass Quintet) and others.

Both a professional performer and teacher, Mr. Rusu has performed in various orchestras including: Nashville Symphony Orchestra (Assistant 1st Horn), Atlanta Opera, Atlanta Ballet, Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Greenville Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, 'Transilvania' National Philharmonic Orchestra (Romania), 'George Enescu' National Philharmonic Orchestra and 'Virtuosos of Bucharest' Chamber Orchestra (both in Bucharest), Atlanta Symphony, and the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra. His professional teaching experience includes teaching at Middle Tennessee State University, the University of Alabama and Bowling Green State University.
