The Piano Faculty will present a concert of piano ensemble music on April 4, 2013 at 7:30 pm in McAfee Hall at Belmont University. The program celebrates the University theme for this year, e pluribus unum -- one from many. There will be four Steinway concert grand pianos on stage and combinations of two, three, and four pianos will be used throughout the concert. The concert will be engaging, yet fun. Eight pianists playing all four pianos will open the program with Ravel's, Bolero and the concert will conclude with a rousing rendition of Sousa's, Stars and Stripes Forever. Other selections include an arrangement by Kristian Klefstad of part one of Stravinsky's, Rite of Spring, Robert Marler will play the first movement of Rachmaninoff's 2nd Piano Concerto accompanied by Daniel Landes. arrangements of jazz selections will be played by the Commercial Piano Faculty, Anthony Belfiglio and Bruce Dudley, and pianists Kris Elsberry and Elena Bennet will play selections by Arensky.
