STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Achieving a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Belmont University requires a competitive grade point average, two years of prerequisite courses, and four years of curricular work at the graduate level.

Students in the Belmont University College of Pharmacy program need tuition, living expenses and other fees for an extended period of time.  The scholarship fund is used to offset a portion of these costs for our students, allowing them to begin their career with less financial burden. Funds are awarded based on need and maintenance of good academic standing.

MISSIONS PROGRAM

Students in the Belmont University College of Pharmacy are dedicated to service over self. In Nashville, our students and faculty serve the homeless, refugees, mothers and children struggling to survive in a safe environment, persons living in food and health care "deserts," persons in homes that have separated them from families, veterans of all services, and marginalized populations. Many of our students learn the value of serving others, and in doing such, find their career path.

Over the past five years nearly 100 students pharmacists from Belmont program have served to assist surgery teams care for children of Guatemala City at the Moore Pediatric Surgery Center. These children’s lives are changed forever because their cosmetic and corrective surgeries prevent them from being outcasts in their society.  Students and faculty serve to manage pharmacy inventory, prepare medications for intra-surgical treatment, and prepare children’s doses for home use after surgery.

Other students have served in Haiti, Honduras, and the Lakota Nation in South Dakota.  Future international locations  include Puerto Rico and other domestic locations.  Students learn invaluable life lessons, become more culturally diverse, and grow professionally during these encounters.  Funds are used to offset training and travel costs.
