About  Dr. Chirico

Dr. Chirico brings 20 years of pharmacy practice experience to Belmont University’s School of Pharmacy. He has held practice and supervisory positions in the Indian Health Service and United States Coast Guard, and has devoted over 10 years of service to the Veteran’s Administration Healthcare System. Dr. Chirico’s interests are in pharmacy-managed clinical services, ambulatory care and geriatrics care.

Dr. Chirico was previously a practicing faculty member at the University of Florida School of Pharmacy and was published in peer-reviewed journals focusing on diabetes care. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kansas in 2006 and his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from Arnold and Marie Schwartz School of Pharmacy in Brooklyn, New York in 1989.

As Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Dr. Chirico will initially co-instruct the Health Assessment Course and nurture students as they enter into their Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience. He will continue to advise and assist students throughout the Intermediate and Advanced Practice Experiences as well as contribute to the curriculum in the areas of Clinical Sciences and Electives.
