Name: Talitha Jones
Major/Minor: Biology/Pre-med, Dance minor

Why did you choose Belmont? I chose Belmont because I wanted more than the run of the mill state school experience. I wanted to find a community and a home, not just a school. I was also looking for a specific set of requirements- I wanted to find a school that would help me achieve my academic dreams as well as allow me to continue pursuing my passion of dance. Belmont was the perfect combination of excellent academics and the arts! I knew I would get a well-rounded education while being surrounded by a tight knit group of students who inspire me.
Why did you choose to be a Tour Guide? I was a tour guide in high school and loved sharing my experience with others. Coming to Belmont was the best decision I ever made, and being a tour guide allows me to share my story. My hope is that I may be able to help someone make Belmont their home like I have.
What is your favorite on-campus event? My favorite on campus even is Greek week. It’s a whole week of fun games and friendly competition! The whole Greek community gets a chance to all be together and have some fun. The best part is Greek Sing! At other schools the sorority and fraternities lip-sync but here at Belmont we compose and sing all the songs ourselves!
What is your favorite movie? Mrs. Doubtfire! I have a small obsession with Robin Williams.
What is your favorite song & artist/band? Shooting Star by Bob Dylan is my favorite song, and I love Alabama Shakes.
What would you want to be your last meal on earth? Steak Dinner with Lobster with some super chocolaty dessert after!
What is your favorite Nashville experience? Live on the Green. It is an outdoor concert series they have in downtown Nashville, and they bring in great acts like my favorite band Alabama Shakes. The best part is that it is completely FREE!
What is your dream career after graduating from Belmont? I want to be an oncologist with a focus on women and children, and traveling the world while assisting countries with need.
What is your favorite class that you have taken at Belmont and why? Diversity and Awareness! We learned about social norms in different countries all over the world.
If you could go back in time and give advice about college to 16-17 year old you, what would you say? Go to Belmont, but don’t worry so much! College will be the best four years of your life.
