Advising/Student Responsibility
Each student is personally responsible for completing all
requirements established for his or her degree by the university
and department. To assist in this process, students are assigned an
adviser from their academic discipline. A student’s
adviser does not assume these responsibilities. While your adviser
will counsel you, you are ultimately responsible for the following:
• Proper completion of your
academic program
• Proper completion of all
convocation requirements
• Familiarity with all
requirements of the university catalog under which you intend to
graduate
• Maintaining the required
GPA
• Meeting all other degree
requirements
• Attending commencement
exercises at which your diploma will be conferred
• Knowing and observing all
regulations pertaining to campus life and student conduct
• Familiarity with
information contained in university publications
• Maintaining communication
with the university by keeping officials informed at all times of
your current address, including zip code and telephone number.
