Early Plunge Registration

What is plunge?
Belmont on Mission: Plunge is a four-day fall-break immersion experience for first-year students. As an introduction to the kind of disciplined intelligence, compassion, courage, and faith that Belmont expects of its students, Plunge is the perfect way to start your freshman year off right. It's also a great way to get to know other students on campus as you learn and serve alongside one another.

Do I have to be a Christian to go on Plunge?
No! While we do want to be clear and upfront that these kinds of trips are offered as a way to partner with God in the world, all students should feel welcomed to sign up. The trip will include opportunities for reflection on faith, theology, and mission throughout the trip, though no one is forced to lead in any religious activity with which they aren't comfortable.

What will we do in on the trip?
We’ll work and stay in the cities that we visit, completing some service projects alongside community partners already doing ministry and community development there. Different trips have slightly different emphases, but they all are basically structured the same.

With whom will we work?
The partnerships are currently scheduled for the following trips:

St. Louis – New City Fellowship

Memphis – Serve 901

Birmingham – Urban Ministry

Indianapolis – Shepherd Community

Atlanta – TBD

How much does plunge cost?
$175 covers all travel, lodging and meal expenses. Some extra spending money is recommended (snacks, souvenirs, etc.).
