Our campus is tucked into a quiet neighborhood that’s next door to the legendary Music Row and within easy reach of the sights and sounds of downtown Nashville. Here are just a few of the reasons why you should pay us a visit.

From the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum to the Grand Ole Opry®, Nashville is home to some of the music industry’s most iconic destinations. Visit Historic RCA Studio B®, where Elvis recorded more than 200 songs, or Hatch Show Print®, the historic letterpress shop that has created show posters since 1879. Other popular attractions include The Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Cheekwood and the National Museum of African American Music.

Coffee & Dining

If you're looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, there are also plenty of coffee shops and restaurants to check out. Adjacent to campus across Belmont Boulevard, you can't go wrong with Bongo Java. This local coffee shop has been serving up delicious coffee and pastries for over 20 years. If you're a coffee lover, then you'll definitely want to check out a few of the best coffeeshops in Nashville.Next door you’ll find a local favorite Athens Family Diner and nearby, a taste of the south with Martin’s BBQ Joint. As well, be sure to check out Eater Nashville where one can find a range of eating and dining options to suit any palate or appetite. If you want a taste of the best restaurants Nashville has to offer, head downtown to Assembly Food Hall (which is also host to a variety of eclectic music performances). 

Getting Around

Downtown Nashville is very walkable, so you can easily stroll from one attraction to the next if you're staying in the downtown area or close to campus. Taxi, Uber and Lyft drivers are abundant. There's an extensive public transportation system that can take you wherever you want to go. The buses are clean, reliable and reasonably priced. Or, if you're feeling active, you can rent a bike and explore the city on two wheels. There are also a number of bike and scooter rental companies. There are plenty of bike trails, and it's a great way to see some of Nashville's sights.

Nashville Neighborhoods

If you're in the mood for some southern hospitality, head over to 12 South. This neighborhood is perfect for a leisurely stroll along restaurants and boutique shops, and it’s just around the corner from Belmont’s campus.

Edgehill Village, a quaint neighborhood relatively small in size but bursting with modern personality and historic charm, has some popular spots for students. This diverse and historic neighborhood is located just south of downtown Nashville. The area was first settled in the early 1800s, and many of the original homes and businesses are still standing today. Edgehill Village is home to a variety of shops and restaurants, as well as several schools and parks. The neighborhood is also well-known for its annual festivities, including the Edgehill Arts Festival and the Edgehill Heritage Festival. Check out some great eats and more here.

The Gulch is another popular neighborhood, which is known for its upscale dining and shopping options. If you're looking for a more refined experience, this is the place to be. You'll find plenty of high-end restaurants, as well as designer stores and luxury hotels.

Belmont's campus is situated in a prime location–the historic and vibrant Hillsboro-West End neighborhood. From campus, students can easily walk to restaurants, shops, parks, nail and hair salons, independent bookstores, coffee shops, and the historic independent Belcourt movie theater. Plus, it's also convenient for those who need to run errands or pick up supplies.

East Nashville is one of the trendiest neighborhoods in the city that has something for everyone. Check out restaurants, music shops and vintage stores. You'll find no shortage of live music listed on NowPlayingNashville.

If you're looking for a more laid-back vibe, consider checking out Sylvan Park. This neighborhood is home to many young families and professionals, and its tree-lined streets are perfect for taking a leisurely stroll. You'll also find some great local shops and restaurants here, as well as plenty of green space at McCabe Community Center and Richland Park.

For a taste of southern hospitality, head to Belle Meade. This upscale neighborhood is known for its beautiful homes and manicured lawns. You'll also find several golf courses and Cheekwood botanical gardens here, making it the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon.
