Why Major in Church Music?
The Bachelor of Music in Church Music allows students the opportunity to pursue a standard curriculum in classical music or opt for an integrative track that facilitates the study of both classical and commercial styles.
This degree program integrates strong musical foundations, significant training in church history and theology, and the best of current practices to equip students with the skills necessary for a career in the worship arts.
Church Music majors have the opportunity to take classical private lessons, perform in Belmont School of Music ensembles, work in local churches and hear from innovative leaders of church music and worship in the Greater Nashville area. The program concludes with a senior year recital.
Additionally, our graduates can pursue more advanced academic training through graduate programs such as Belmont’s Master of Music in Church Music.
