The Dance Minor is 22 credit hours for those who want to continue their dance training while at Belmont. The Dance program offers coursework in Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Modern dance techniques as well as coursework in Dance Composition and Choreography.

Students do not have to be a minor to enroll in dance classes.

The Dance faculty boasts an impressive roster of celebrated dance professionals, including Choreographers, Technologists, Educators, Production Designers and Acclaimed Performers. Their primary focus is on the artistic, intellectual and professional development of each dance student.

Performance opportunities are available in both dance performance and musical theatre productions. Belmont has courses available for everyone including the novice dancer to the seasoned veteran. Every semester is capped with a dance performance choreographed by student and faculty members in the dance program.

The Dance minor is an option for all students. Interested students must contact the Director of the Dance program and must attend a proficiency audition to determine placement into the level II and III dance technique courses required for the Dance minor. Placement auditions are held at the beginning of each semester on the Monday before classes begin.
