Beth Fentress Hallmark, PhD, RN, CHSE-A, ANEF is the Director of Simulation at Belmont University and an Associate Professor. Beth completed Her ADN (Samford '86), BSN (Belmont, ‘89) and MSN (Vanderbilt ‘94). In 2010, she completed her PhD in Educational Leadership where she examined the impact of faculty debriefing training on the cognitive outcomes of students. Dr. Hallmark has been involved in simulation since 2007. Beth led the formation of the Tennessee Simulation Alliance and remains active on the board. In 2017, Beth directed the SSH accreditation efforts at Belmont, the first center in TN to be accredited. She is an SSH accreditation visitor, a member of the NLN Nursing Edge Advisory Board, and past chair of the INACSL nominations committee, past member of the standards committee and present board member. In 2019, she was inducted into the NLN Academy of Nursing Education. Belmont has a very active simulation program and intentionally integrates the Health Simulation Standards of Best Practice. Some additional areas of interest are skills in nursing education, using observation as a technique in simulation and diversity in nursing education. Her recent publications are related to interprofessional student projects in simulation, faculty development and interinstitutional experiential learning collaboration. Beth is passionate about mentoring junior faculty and learning from her mentors.

Ms. Longhi joined the simulation team in 2017 after completing her MSN in Nursing Education. She first became interested in nursing simulation during her capstone as part of her MSN program. She accepted a faculty position at Belmont University in January 2019 as a Simulation Specialist. Since then, she has enjoyed the challenges of developing and facilitating undergraduate nursing simulations in a growing nursing program and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

- Lauren Banks Rickman, RN, MSNSimulation SpecialistDNP Belmont University; MSN (Nursing Education) Austin Peay State University; BSN University of Southern MississippiView Bio
Ms. Rickman was hired as a Simulation Specialist in 2019 for the undergraduate school of nursing simulation program. She is responsible for the development, facilitation and evaluation of simulation-based experiences (SBEs) conducted across the nursing program’s concept-based curriculum. As a former emergency department nurse, her favorite simulations are the code blue, end-of-life, and multi-patient simulations that are conducted during the final semester of the program. Ms. Rickman is a DNP candidate graduating in May 2022, and her scholarly work has been centered around psychological safety in pre-licensure nursing simulation. The results of her study are being used to improve the psychological safety of students participating in SBEs. Ms. Rickman is also studying for the Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE®) exam.
