Biography
Alexander Robinson is a Simulation Operations Manager at the Center for Interprofessional Engagement & Simulation at Belmont University, where he leads the day-to-day operations, technical integration, and innovation of high-fidelity clinical simulation experiences.
Originally from Indianapolis, Alexander attended the Herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI and began his career in public-sector design and communication. He later transitioned into healthcare simulation and brings over six years of experience specializing in anesthesia, emergency medicine, and immersive VR-based medical training.
Alexander began his simulation career at Indiana University Health’s Fairbanks Simulation Center, where he focused primarily on anesthesia simulation, supporting complex surgical, airway, and ventilator-based scenarios. During his time at Fairbanks, he also began working concurrently at IU Health’s Bloomington Simulation Center, further expanding his experience in multidisciplinary clinical training across different hospital systems. He later served as a Simulation Designer with VR Patients, where he developed AI-integrated patient encounters and advanced simulation software.
His technical expertise includes operating and maintaining systems such as the SimMan 3G, ASL 5000, and Meta Quest VR headsets. He has co-authored a peer-reviewed publication on AI in simulation-based education and has presented nationally at conferences including SimGHOSTS.
Outside of simulation, Alexander has a background in photography and visual media. In his free time, he enjoys analog film development, playing guitar, painting, freelance design, motion graphics, and developing web-based applications—blending creativity and technology in and out of the simulation center.
