Biography

Dr. Jason Curtis joined the Department of Exercise Science as an Assistant Professor in the Fall of 2025.  He previously taught full-time at Keiser University in their Master of Science Program in Exercise and Sports Sciences. He previously taught undergraduate courses there as well.  He received his Bachelor of Business Management  and Master of Science in Sports Health both from Texas Tech University.  He received his Ph.D. in Health and Wellness Promotion from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.

Before coming to Belmont University, Dr. Curtis served as undergraduate adjunct faculty for Nova Southeastern University.  He has served as master’s adjunct faculty at both Liberty University, and the United States Sports University.  He also served as doctoral faculty at Concordia University, St. Paul.  He has also served as dissertation faculty for Liberty, Concordia St. Paul, and Faulkner University.  Prior to pedagogy he was a strength and conditioning coach for the Los Angeles Angels, and Texas Tech University’s Men’s basketball team and served as the university's Sports Nutritionist. as a Sports Nutritionist. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA and a Certified Sports Nutritionist with the ISSN.  He serves as a Co-Editor and Chief for the Journal for Sports Neuroscience.  He is also an editorial board member for the JISSN.
