Biography

Jason Garner is an Instructor of Audio Engineering Technology at Belmont University, where he teaches courses in game audio and other areas of music and audio production. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Engineering Technology from the University of Miami and a Master’s degree in Music with a focus on video game audio from Southern Utah University.

Jason’s professional journey spans several industries, from designing car audio systems for General Motors at Delco Electronics to producing and programming for some of Nashville’s top songwriters. He also contributed programming work to Songs from The Neighborhood: The Music of Mister Rogers, which won a Grammy Award for producer Dennis Scott.

As a composer, Jason’s music has been featured in a wide range of media, including broadcasts for NFL and Major League Baseball games, as well as popular TV shows like Glee, S.W.A.T., and Hemlock Grove. He was also fortunate enough to have his music be a part of the broadcast for Super Bowl LVIII.

Over the years, Jason has developed a deep interest in video game audio, which has become an extension of his teaching and research. At Belmont, he enjoys helping students develop the technical skills and creative insights they need to succeed in the dynamic fields of audio engineering and music production, including the rapidly evolving world of video game sound and interactive audio.
