Belmont alumni recently teamed up to create a memorable event at W.O. Smith's Rock'N'Roll summer camp Keynote Performance Series.Belmont alumnus Luke Putney and his organization Instrumental Horizons hosts their Keynote Performance Series as a living memorial for Carter Holland, a young musician whose legacy is remembered in music.

Instrumental Horizons’s Keynote Performance Series, hosted by Belmont alumnus Jones Kolbinsky, is a combination of musical performance and motivational conversation offered exclusively to W.O. Smith campers through rare, up-close interactions with nationally recognized music industry VIPS.

Instrumental Horizons presented a check for $10,000 to support music education programs at W.O. Smith. An album release of Holland’s music recorded by his childhood friend, Nashville musician and Belmont alumnus Jones Kolbinsky, also debuted at the event.

Additionally, this year's keynote performer was Grammy nominated recording artist and former music director for Beyonce, DIVINITY ROXX. Roxx shared her story with students at the camp in June.

“Instrumental Horizons is thrilled to have Divinity Roxx as the inaugural performer for our Keynote Performance Series,” said Luke Putney, Belmont alumnus and president of Instrumental Horizons. “She’s talented, successful, very cool, and she’s sending positive, healthy messages to kids through her Grammy Nominated Children’s album, 'Ready, Set, Go!'"

W.O. Smith Music School offers camps, music education and musical instrument lending programs for youth from under-resourced communities throughout the Nashville Metropolitan area. All W.O. Smith students have demonstrated financial need.
