Sharon Brawner Named VP for Hospitality & Event Services

Experienced executive brings proven leadership in tourism, hospitality, revenue growth to advance Belmont's strategic venues and events

Sharon BrawnerBelmont University has appointed Sharon Brawner to serve as its new vice president for hospitality & event services, effective April 14. In this role, Brawner will lead the University’s Office of Strategic Venues and Event Services, providing comprehensive oversight and strategic vision for all University-wide hospitality programs and events across campus. 

Brawner joins Belmont with extensive executive leadership experience in the travel, tourism and sports sectors, most recently serving as president and CEO of the National Corvette Museum from 2021-2024. Her Nashville roots run deep, having spent 20 years at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum. There, she served as senior vice president of sales, marketing & IT, and was the driving force behind 95% of the museum's revenue generation through creative marketing strategies.

In her new role as VP, Brawner will champion Belmont's commitment to hospitality excellence while leading the strategic vision for campus events that showcase the University's distinct character. She will oversee Belmont’s portfolio of premier venues, ensuring each delivers exceptional experiences. Drawing on her impressive track record of pairing financial acumen with creative vision, she'll oversee signature University events ensuring each aligns with institutional goals.  

Throughout her career, Brawner has consistently boosted revenue while enhancing visitor experiences, and brings an entrepreneurial spirit to her leadership role at Belmont. She will collaborate with a dedicated team focused on creating seamless experiences while fostering meaningful connections with University employees, alumni, donors and the community — furthering Belmont’s commitment to creating spaces where everyone feels welcomed, valued and embraced as part of the Belmont community.

Brawner holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and has been deeply connected to the region’s leadership circles throughout her career.  Her community involvement includes many years of service to the Tennessee Governor’s Tourism Committee, the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Kentucky Travel Industry Association and as a graduate of Leadership Nashville.
