Fisher Center for the Performing Arts
Belmont University’s new Fisher Center for the Performing Arts was dedicated in September 2021. Fashioned after traditional performance venues with classical design, the Fisher Center is a state-of-the-art facility adding another diamond to Music City’s ring of world-class venues. The advanced technology, production and acoustic capabilities within the complex supports diverse audiences with major concerts, plays, operas, dance, musical theatre and other performances while also supplying Belmont’s nationally renowned arts students with a unique learning and performing environment.
McAfee Concert Hall
The award winning McAfee Concert Hall is an 876-seat venue which houses a 55-rank Aeolian Skinner organ, 2 nine foot Steinway Grand pianos and provides an outstanding venue for performances of the University's classical choral and instrumental ensembles and special guests. Additionally, there are 16 practice rooms in the McAfee Annex behind the concert hall.
Troutt Theatre
The Bill & Carole Troutt Theatre is a 300-seat proscenium theater and is equipped with state-of-the-art lighting and audio equipment and also serves as a performance and teaching facility.er.
Black Box Theatre
The Black Box Theater is a 150 seat experimental performance and classroom venue that is the second stage for the Department of Theatre & Dance and a classroom facility for all movement-based performance courses. The Black Box is a flexible performance space with moveable seating risers and is equipped with state-of-the-art lighting and audio equipment.
Belmont Little Theatre
The Belmont Little Theatre is an 80-seat experimental performance and classroom venue and serves as the student performance facility for the Department of Theatre & Dance and a classroom facility for our acting courses. The Belmont Little Theatre is a studio performance space with flexible seating and portable lighting and sound.
Massey Performing Arts Center
The Massey Performing Arts Center houses both instructional and performance spaces. Home to Belmont's primary performance venues, MPAC is in motion year round with student recitals, concert events, school assemblies, classes and musical productions.
Also home to MPAC are several teaching studios and practice rooms, three large classrooms and a dance space.
Massey Concert Hall
Massey Concert Hall is our 1000-seat auditorium with its live audio production capabilities. Serving both commercial and classical genres, Massey Concert Hall has held numerous events and recitals with top named artists and musicians. Country artists (such as Vince Gill, Billy Dean and Crystal Gayle), rock artists (such as Jars of Clay), CCM artists (such as Rebecca St. James and Bob Carlyle) as well as many of our own renown music faculty have all performed on the Massey stage. Extensive costume and set design productions for Belmont Opera Theatre and Belmont Musical Theatre have provided beneficial in-house training for students in the musical arts.
Harton Recital Hall
Harton Recital Hall is a classical acoustic venue. With tiered seating for 100 people, Harton Recital Hall is an excellent intimate venue for classical solo recitals, chamber music recitals and master classes. Harton Recital Hall provides a vibrant setting for classical through contemporary chamber works. Harton Recital Hall is filled with activity throughout the year: undergraduate and graduate student recitals, guest lecturers, panel discussions, guest concerts, ensemble concerts and rehearsals.
Hitch Building
The bottom floor of the Hitch Building contains 27 practice rooms, a small Wicks pipe organ and two classrooms, one of which is used for choral ensemble rehearsals.
Belmont Heights
The Belmont Heights complex comprises classrooms, offices, teaching studios, and percussion practice rooms. Two classroom spaces, Belmont Heights 105 and 106, are dedicated for percussion use for ensembles, classes, lessons, and student practice. Housed in these rooms is a wide array of instruments such as keyboard percussion (including several 5-octave marimbas), steel drums, timpani, orchestral accessories, drumsets, and myriad world percussion instruments. New Music Technology and Piano labs opening spring 2023.
Wilson Music Building
The Sam A. Wilson Building contains the School of Music offices, faculty studios and offices, classroom and rehearsal spaces, practice rooms, a piano lab, a vocal arts lab, and two music technology labs.
