  • Employer Reimbursement is an agreement between you and your employer. If your employer will be reimbursing you after your courses are complete each semester, you are financially responsible to pay for courses before the semester begins. You can pay in cash or use loans to get started, then you can roll your reimbursement checks into the future semesters.

Installment Payment Plans.  If you use your savings and/or current income to cover all or part of your education expenses, you can take advantage of the Interest-Free Monthly Payment Option offered through Tuition Management System (www.afford.com/Belmont). TMS takes your estimated educational expense and divides it into monthly payments. The cost is $55 per year and is only available for fall and spring semesters.

Paying With Student Loans.  Graduate students who are U.S. citizens are eligible to apply for the Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan programs, which are awarded without regard to financial need.  Interest accures from the time the loan is disbursed until it is paid in full.  The maximum loan is $20,500 per academic year.  If you are using Stafford Loans to pay any portion of your tuition, you should complete  the FAFSA  at least six weeks before the beginning of classes.

International students admitted before March 1st are considered for all scholarships and graduate assistantships. Upon admission, international students will be contacted by Belmont’s International Student Services Office for additional information regarding student visas, enrollment deposits, and university policies that are unique to those entering the U.S. to attend Belmont University (615-460-6342).

Students must complete the graduate application by the appropriate deadline and be accepted to the graduate program. No additional institutional grants or discounts can be applied. The discount is for alumni entering into a new graduate program and is not applicable to students enrolled prior to the 23-24 academic year.

Corporate Partners Program & Employer Direct Pay

Employer tuition assistance is an agreement between you and your employer. If your employer will be reimbursing you after your courses are complete each semester, you are financially responsible to pay for courses before the semester begins. Please contact Student Financial Services at finaid@belmont.edu or 615.460.6403 for more information and a recommended strategy.

If your employer will pay your tuition directly to Belmont, Student Financial Services needs employer authorization to agree to Belmont's payment terms.

Further, if your employer offers any form of tuition assistance, the Massey School offers matching funds in spring and fall (up to four semesters total) through our Corporate Partners Program (CPP) for MBA programs. Visit that page for additional information.

Yes. You do not need an undergraduate business degree to earn a Belmont MBA or MAcc. However, prerequisite coursework must be completed prior to enrolling in graduate-level courses. Non-business majors looking to enroll in a Massy MBA program should apply for the summer term and attend SBI.  Non-business majors looking to enroll in the Massey MAcc should apply for summer and attend SAI.  The complete information for each is below.

Summer Business Institute (SBI)

Designed and taught by Massey faculty members, the Summer Business Institute completes all prerequisite coursework for Massey’s MBA programs and courses including:

  • Accounting I
  • Accounting II
  • Microeconomics
  • Macroeconomics
  • Statistics

SBI courses are completed over 12 weeks in the summer and students attend classes two weeknights per week and on Saturdays during the program. Students who complete the Summer Business Institute hit the ground running, fully prepared for success in Massey’s MBA program. All SBI students must first be admitted to a Massey Graduate School of Business MBA program.

Convenient online instruction begins May 20, 2023, and continues through early August (approximately 12 weeks), with all classes taught by Massey MBA faculty. Class sessions are fast-paced, highly interactive, and designed to equip participants with the most relevant business concepts necessary for success as they begin MBA studies. Classes are scheduled to meet the needs of working professionals and are held on Tuesday & Thursday evenings (6:15 PM – 9:00 PM) & Saturdays (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM).

SBI is the only AACSB-accredited program in Tennessee that combines a work-friendly, fast-track approach to preparing non-business majors for Massey’s MBA programs.

Summer Accounting Institute (SAI)

The Summer Accounting Institute is designed and taught by Massey faculty members and completes all prerequisite coursework required for Massey’s Master of Accountancy program. Massey MAcc prerequisites include an undergraduate degree in business and a minimum of 12 hours of undergraduate accounting coursework.

SAI courses include the following subjects:

  • Financial Accounting
  • Cost Accounting
  • Tax Accounting
  • Audit Accounting

SAI courses are completed over ten weeks in the summer and students attend classes on two weeknights per week and Saturdays during the program. Students who complete the Summer Accounting Institute hit the ground running, fully prepared for success in Massey’s MAcc program. Learn more about the Summer Accounting Institute.

As an alternative, prerequisites can be completed in Belmont's Undergraduate School of Business or at any other accredited undergraduate college or university. All prerequisites must be completed with a grade of "C" or better. Official transcripts are required as proof of successful completion. A review of a student's undergraduate transcript will be necessary to determine which prerequisites are required.

Quality concerns and capacity limits dictate that only students admitted to the Massey Graduate School of Business are allowed to enroll in MBA or MAcc classes.  Non-degree-seeking students may be admitted but must be enrolled in another university to take graduate classes as a transient student at Belmont.  You are limited to 6 credit hours of graduate coursework to transfer to another program.

Belmont University is a teaching institution. Massey Graduate School of Business faculty members conduct and publish significant research, but their primary focus is on offering the highest quality teaching for each student. Professors offer world-class instruction, and they also take a personal interest in your success. Further, Massey professors have significant industry experience, in addition to educational pedigrees.

You will benefit from this personal touch throughout the program and beyond. Faculty and staff keep in contact with Massey alums and we have an active alumni network that includes over 2,900 business and community leaders, most of whom work and reside in the greater Nashville area.

Massey alums also benefit from the unique Massey For Life program. Our alums can audit any Massey Graduate School of Business courses for free, truly an opportunity for lifelong learning. In addition, you will have lifelong access to the Career Development Center.

AMBA courses are offered late afternoon and evening to allow students access tor electives in the PMBA program.

The normal expectation is that all work for the MBA or MAcc degrees will be completed at Belmont University. However, in certain cases, up to six hours of transfer credit may be granted for graduate-level courses completed at an AACSB accredited institution.

Belmont University does not provide married or graduate student housing. Off-campus resources can be found here.

Although it is not mandatory, it is strongly preferred that applicants have recommendations completed by current or recent immediate employment supervisors. However, prospective students are occasionally reluctant to include their supervisors in the process. In this case, a co-worker or recent college professor may also be a logical choice for a recommendation. We do not accept recommendations from family members, pastors or friends because they may lack objectivity.
