Summer Camp & Belmont Academy Information

Belmont University’s Summer Piano Invitational is a summer experience for pianists rising into 9th-12th grades. Participants may study classical or jazz piano in their private lesson with a member of Belmont's nationally-recognized piano faculty.  There are also group sessions for participants that include sight-reading, ensemble playing, introduction to popular styles, and approaches to learning music.

The Belmont Guitar Camp is a 5-day event that takes place at Belmont University’s beautiful campus in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. Students entering grades 9-12 will engage in rehearsals, group lessons, masterclasses, and performances with the outstanding guitar faculty at Belmont University. This camp will focus on a variety of commercial styles, such as funk, rock, country, jazz, among others.

The Belmont University Summer Winds Band Camp is a unique summer camp event for high school students entering grades 9-12 (ages 13-18). Camp students study under the artistic guidance of the outstanding Belmont instrumental and ensemble faculty. Opportunities include large ensembles, master classes, and class lessons. We are expanding the band camp to include junior high grades 7 and 8. They will be day campers only.

Transformation! is a week-long advanced acting camp at Belmont University taught by university instructors and local professionals.  During the week, students will explore vocal and physical communication, text analysis, stage combat, and improv, all in service of creating a role or roles in a showcase of their work on the final day.

String Crossings is Belmont University’s annual week-long summer camp where current high school string students learn and perform music from a diverse set of genres including classical, jazz, rock, celtic, swing, and bluegrass. Students have the opportunity to study with Belmont's world-renowned faculty, explore creative musicianship and technique in all styles, participate in interactive performances, and immerse themselves in an exciting week of making music with new friends!

The Belmont Summer Vocal Arts Intensive is a week-long immersive experience in solo and choral singing in a variety of styles. Students entering grades 9-12 will engage in rehearsals, masterclasses, and performances with the outstanding artistic faculty at Belmont University. The Summer Vocal Arts Intensive provides a unique opportunity to experience high level artistry in both classical and commercial singing. This residential camp takes place on Belmont University’s beautiful campus in downtown Nashville, TN.

First Steps in Music Certification Course

Dates: June 24-27, 2024

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Registration Options: Commuter and Resident

Commuter Cost: $550

Residential Cost: 4 nights of housing in a single room/4 bedroom apartment, $775

Lunch included for all registrants

24 hour certification course/24 hours of Professional Development Credit

About the Course: Belmont University is excited to host FAME-Endorsed Teacher Trainer Emily Maurek as she provides the First Steps in Music Certification Course! This course provides a bridge from research to practice by demonstrating how Dr. Feierabend's First Steps in Music; a curriculum rich in children's songs, rhymes, games, and dances; can develop musical intelligence, singing and movement skills, and expressive sensitivities. 24 Professional Development hours are available.
