Plunge

What is Plunge?
Plunge is Belmont on Mission's four-day Fall Break immersion experience for first-year students. As part of our mission to be a Christ-centered, student-focused community, we offer immersion experiences that develop diverse leaders of purpose, character, wisdom, and transformational mindset, who are equipped to make the world a better place. Plunge is the perfect way to start your freshman year off right. It's also a great way to get to know other students on campus as you learn and serve alongside one another.

Do I have to be a Christian to go on Plunge?
No! While we do want to be transparent that our mission experiences are offered to create an opportunity for students to participate in God’s work in the world, we welcome all students regardless of their faith commitments to sign up and participate in making a difference in our world. Plunge will include opportunities for reflection on faith, theology, and mission throughout the trip, though no one is required to lead or participate in any religious activity with which they are uncomfortable.

What will we do in on the trip?
We will work and stay in our partner city, completing service projects alongside community partners already impacting their community through ministry and community development. Different trips have slightly different emphases, but they all are basically structured the same.

With whom will we work?
Partnerships are currently scheduled for the following trips:

  • Asheville, NC
  • Birmingham, AL
  • Memphis, TN
  • Nashville, TN

How much does Plunge cost?
All Plunge trips are $200 ($150 for our Nashville Experience), which covers all travel, lodging and meal expenses. Some extra spending money is recommended (snacks, souvenirs, etc.). You'll pay a $30 deposit to reserve your spot which functions as an administrative fee.

What if I have more questions?

Look at all the Plunge pages on Belmont Global to find more information about each trip. If you still don't know which trip sounds best for you, fill out the Belmont on Mission Interest Form and we'll try to help you out!
