Biography

Carl Rydlund is a composer, arranger, orchestrator, conductor, guitarist and has been teaching at Belmont University School of Music since August 2021. After completing a Bachelor degree in Music Composition from the University of Colorado, Carl moved to Los Angeles to study at the legendary Grove School of Music. Upon completing a two-year program in arranging and film composition, Carl started performing for record, TV, and film sessions on guitar. Performing on thousands of sessions over the next five years. The next ten years also included work as an arranger and as a copyist at Joann Kane Music and Disney. The last fifteen years he has been focusing on film, video games and live orchestral work as an arranger/orchestrator, conductor, and guitarist. His many clients include Hans Zimmer/Remote Control Productions, Hildur Guðnadóttir, EA Games, Riot Games, Josh Groban, Warner Brothers, Disney, Universal and Fox Studios. His wide and varied experience, having worked on well over 1500 movies as well as his ability to adapt to an ever changing business and technology landscape has made him one of the most sought after studio musicians in the world.
