Biography

Casey Hebbel is a Nashville-based director, choreographer, and theatre artist. She began performing professionally at age thirteen and has since appeared in nearly thirty Equity productions all across the country from New York City to California. Some of her favorite performance credits include The Producers at Flat Rock Playhouse, Gypsy (Electra) and Mamma Mia (Ali) at Studio Tenn, and Evita and Cats at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina. She also spent two seasons with the Nashville company of the national tour of How the Grinch Stole Christmas which played the Grand Ole Opry for well over 100 performances - a true career highlight. 

 As a creator, Casey works closely with the Nashville collegiate community. At Trevecca University she has served as choreographer for Freaky Friday and She Loves Me, the latter of which she also assistant directed. At Belmont, she holds near and dear her experience directing the Freshmen Musical Theatre Showcase. Here she also directed and choreographed And the World Goes Round. She continues to serve Belmont as a director and choreographer for their various productions. Beyond universities, Casey has served as the assistant director and assistant choreographer for The Sound of Music at A.D. Players in Houston, TX, and will assist on Nashville Repertory Theatre’s production of 9 to 5 in a similar capacity to kick off their 2023-24 season. 

Casey is a proud graduate of Belmont’s BFA Musical Theatre program. She also returned to Belmont to obtain her Master of Arts in Teaching. In the Spring of 2024, Casey will graduate from the University of Idaho with a Master of Fine Arts in Directing. She is so grateful to create in such a beautiful community of young artists at Belmont.
