Biography

Steve Willets has served at Belmont for more than a decade as an Adjunct Instructor in commercial piano. He earned his BME from George Peabody College.

Currently, he is working/touring with Crystal Gayle on piano/keyboards. He has also toured with Boots Randolph, Ricky Van Shelton and Bonnie Bramlett.  Additional performance credits include working with a wide variety of artists including; Sandi Patti, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Brenda Lee, Kevin Mahogany, the Drifters, Coasters, Ink Spots, and the Mills Bros. While in demand as a solo pianist, keyboard, side-man, singer, he continues to perform on various recording projects for gospel, rock, jazz,and country artists.  Mr. Willets also served as Musical Director for the late, great Dick Clark in creation of his live stage show production “Dick Clark’s Rock n Roll Revival”. 

In addition to his performance credentials, Mr. Willets writes, produces and performs custom songs and original music for many corporations and industrial theatre productions. His past experience includes work with the Honda, Dollar General, Bridgestone/Firestone and Harley Davidson corporations.

With his extensive background as a music director, conductor and orchestra leader (seventeen years with Opryland USA Showpark, and three years with American Hawaii Cruise Lines), Mr. Willets provides his students with a broad range of practical commercial music styles and excellence in musicianship. He seeks to encourage musical growth and inspiration for all of his students.
