DOCTOR OF PHARMACY
The College of Pharmacy at Belmont University is preparing a new generation of health professionals to meet the changing needs of pharmacy practice with a future-oriented Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
It starts with a solid educational foundation in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice from a faculty of experienced practitioners and educators. On this foundation is an innovative academic program and extensive experiential component designed to provide depth and breadth of knowledge and skills to prepare you for an emerging array of career options in pharmacy. You can specialize in one of five areas - pharmacy management, information management, missions/public health, pharmacotherapy or interdisciplinary care delivery.
Your studies will be enhanced in a brand new health sciences facility which features state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms and simulation technology. You will have opportunity to learn inter-professionally alongside future nurses, occupational therapists, social workers and physical therapists – your peers in the adjoining College of Health Sciences.
You will also benefit from Belmont's prime location in Nashville, one of the top healthcare centers in the country. Your clinical opportunities are expanded because of the healthcare industry's prominence here. And you will never run out of things to do in Nashville, with music from nearly every genre, professional and collegiate Division I sports, recreational activities, cultural events, great restaurants and more.
At Belmont, you will find a warm and accepting Christian learning environment where you're encouraged to think critically about your beliefs and attitudes, reinforcing professional knowledge with personal integrity, the capacity to think critically, and a strong sense of responsibility and accountability - traits that all pharmacists need.
It all adds up to an ideal place to pursue your PharmD!
