Mark Terrell

Biography

Mark serves as the Client Development Lead for Executive Education at Belmont University, bringing with him over fifteen years of experience in the financial services industry.

 Prior to joining Belmont, Mark spent over seven years as VP & Commercial Relationship Manager with FirstBank in Nashville, TN, working with businesses and nonprofits in a variety of industries, including real estate, manufacturing, insurance, and fashion.  Prior to joining FirstBank in 2016, Mark was a branch manager with Regions Bank, and represented the Middle Tennessee region by serving on several leadership committees within the bank, including the Consumer 360 Elite Team, conducting financial seminars for employees of some of the bank’s largest corporate clients in the region.  In addition, Mark also served two years on the Middle Tennessee Leadership Council, and was a 2009 graduate of the Branch Leadership Academy.  Prior to getting into banking, Mark worked with PR Newswire as an Account Manager, helping corporate clients with their public, investor, and media relations throughout a four-state territory in the southeast.

Alongside his career in business development, Mark served over three years as Board Treasurer and Finance Chairman for Daybreak Arts, a local nonprofit that helps provide artistic resources and economic opportunities for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.  Mark’s passion for the arts also extends to his love for writing, recording, and performing music.  A self-taught drummer since the age of six, Mark also took up guitar, piano, and singing, thanks to growing up in a family of musicians.  Mark has played with several bands over the years since he was a teenager, and continues to write and record music as a hobby.

Born and raised in Birmingham, AL, Mark is a 2001 graduate of Auburn University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.  He has been a resident of Nashville since 2004, and loves traveling, cooking, the outdoors, and most of all spending time with his wife Molly, their daughter Lucy, and two dogs Sadie and Elsa.
