The entry-level doctoral program is a full-time, day program for those who have completed a bachelor’s degree at a regionally accredited college or university in any major. It is designed for those who wish to enter the field of occupational therapy at the highest level of preparation.

Belmont was one of the first accredited OTD programs by the Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) and is one of the most established clinical doctorate programs in occupational therapy offered in the United States.

The doctoral degree program is different from the master's level program in several important ways. OTD students develop leadership skills beyond those of an entry-level generalist through the creation and implementation of an in-depth Capstone Experience.
