Bryan W. Brooks is Distinguished Professor of Environmental Science and Public Health, and Director of Environmental Health Science at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. His research interests include the sustainability of healthcare, environmental and comparative pharmacology and toxicology, environmental and green chemistry, chemical assessment and management, water quality and reuse, and environmental public health practice.
Prof. Brooks’ research commonly examines One Health and Planetary Health topics, such as threats from harmful algal blooms, wastewater-based epidemiology for emerging diseases and drug abuse, and chemicals and waste management.
He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Environmental Science & Technology Letters (American Chemical Society Publications; https://pubs.acs.org/journal/estlcu).
Prof. Brooks is currently a Catalyst Leaders International Fellow, which is supported by the Royal Society of New Zealand. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
