Eric B. Abbott is a strategic innovation technology leader with deep expertise in AI research, digital enterprise solutions, digital health, and wireless infrastructure. His specialties include startups and entrepreneurship, product and portfolio management, and business development.
Eric has global experience as a trusted advisor to executive leadership teams in private industry, government, and nonprofits, including commercial enterprises, the federal government, domestic and international wireless operators, and large utilities. He is currently a Healthcare Practice Solutions Director at Cisco Systems, driving sustainable and economically relevant digital transformation in the healthcare industry across North America. Eric is also Adjunct Faculty for Northwestern University's Master's of Science graduate program in Medical Health Informatics as faculty advisor and teaching courses in Consumer Digital Health and the American Healthcare System. Prior to this, Eric was in various leadership roles in private industry, including Advocate Aurora Healthcare, ExteNet Systems, and Motorola, Inc. Eric currently leads a startup focusing on applications of federated AI/ML.
Eric holds a Master of Science degree in Medical Informatics from Northwestern University, a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto, an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, a Post Graduate Degree in AI/ML from the University of Texas at Austin, and two Professional Engineering licenses. He also holds several patents.
