Marco Foracchia

Biography
Marco Foracchia is currently the Chief Information Officer at Azienda Unità Sanitaria Locale - IRCCS, Reggio Emilia (Local Health Authority, network of 6 public hospital, approx. 1600 beds and public health services).
He earned a master’s degree in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering from Università degli Studi di Padova (Padua, Italy), a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics from the University of Patras (Greece), a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Medical Image Analysis from the Politecnico di Milano (Milan, Italy) and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management (EMMAS) at SDA Bocconi (Milan, Italy) a Degree from the MIT Applied Data Science Program (Cambridge, MA, USA).
He has been visiting scholar at the Resource Facility for Population Kinetics at the University of Washington (Seattle, USA) within the R01 GM-60021 NIH funded project. He has worked in Research and Development for private companies, mainly in pharmacokinetic modelling, medical device design, medical image analysis, robotics simulation and scientific computing.
He is a Contract Professor at the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Neuroscience at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
He has been a Contract Professor at SDA Bocconi.
He is an IEEE, EMB member, and has been a reviewer for numerous journals in the healthcare IT and image analysis field.
He is a HIMSS member, HIMSS Italian Community Committee Member
He is an AISIS (Italian Association of Healthcare Information Systems CIOs, CHIME, Italian Chapter) Board Member and Vice President.
He is a KLAS International Advisory Board Member.
