Post-Doctoral Pharmacy Fellowships

Belmont University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (CPHS) offers 2 two-year post-doctoral fellowships focused on drug information, evidence-based practice, regulatory processes, teaching, and research. Additionally, CPHS offers a 3rd two-year fellowship in population health focused on developing advanced skills in chronic disease management, implementation of population health, grant funding, and research.

Minors

The public health minor exposes students to foundational courses in the field.  It is a great option for students interested in business, nursing, pre-health, education, and more.  For more information, please visit the course catalog.

The Epidemiology Minor provides students with foundational knowledge of epidemiology, the study and control of disease or injury patterns in human populations. Students will develop basic skills in epidemiology and biostatistics and then apply those skills to specific topic-based courses like Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Chronic Disease Epidemiology, and Social Epidemiology. Belmont’s Nutrition minor is a holistic blend of 6 courses covering a wide range of topics in the field of nutrition.  Beginning with nutrition principles as the foundation, students expand their knowledge to advanced concepts in digestion, absorption and energy metabolism. Supporting courses cover nutritional inadequacies in society, current strategies for improving athletic performance, and the many ways nutrition can prevent and aid in the management of disease states.  Students finish the minor with an internship in nutrition achieving placements ranging from fueling athletes to assisting local dietitians and conducting nutrition education courses for the on-campus non-profit, The Store.  The nutrition minor at Belmont helps students navigate the ever-changing field of nutrition research by developing balance, inclusion and adequacy in diet.  

The Sports Medicine minor is designed to prepare students for post-bachelor’s degree programs focused on healthcare for active populations; including, but not limited to Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Chiropractics. The curriculum emphasizes a strong foundation in anatomical knowledge, the physics of movement, injury pathology, inflammation processes and healing timelines, therapeutic modality usage, as well as rehabilitation strategies concurrent with contemporary practice.

The Strength & Conditioning Minor is designed to help others enhance their quality of life.  This course will teach you how to improve joint movement and strength, while simultaneously amplifying body awareness to mitigate injury and optimize performance.

The Social Justice Minor allows students to explore content related to foundational social work practice, as well deepen their understanding of specific social service practice settings, populations, and social challenges. Courses include Introduction to Social Work, and Social Work electives such as Social Justice and Film, Exploring Human Diversity, and Poverty in the United States.
