Biography

Dr. Rasmussen is the Assistant Dean of Nursing Academic Practice Partnerships. Dr. Rasmussen is passionate about interprofessional education and innovative approaches to developing and sustaining a healthy, compassionate nursing workforce. Her extensive clinical experience has shaped a holistic, systems-based, collaborative approach to the practice of nursing. Dr. Rasmussen began her clinical career as a bedside nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. She has enjoyed roles as a certified family nurse practitioner in an HIV clinic, an urgent care clinic, and a home health hospice agency. Dr. Rasmussen’s research interests currently include using an interdisciplinary approach to enhancing health outcomes, particularly addressing the opioid crisis.
