Biography
Brandon grew up in the Midwest (mostly Indiana), but decided to attend Belmont for his undergraduate degree after an impactful experience at the university’s String Crossings music camp. He studied both Violin Performance and Mathematics, and he eventually graduated from Belmont in May of 2017 before going to Middle Tennessee State University for further studies in mathematics. Upon receiving his Master’s, Brandon returned to Belmont to teach for several years in the Mathematics and Computer Science Department as an adjunct and then a lecturer.
During his time at Belmont, Brandon also worked as a mathematics tutor for the Learning Center, and as of June 2023 has stepped up to become the Assistant Director for the Centers. He hopes to use this new position to help empower Belmont’s students and help them deal with math anxiety and other stressful learning roadblocks. Using everything he has learned in his previous experience as a Belmont student, tutor, and professor, he hopes to bolster the Learning Centers and Belmont as a whole. Outside of Belmont, Brandon continues playing violin as concertmaster of the Middle Tennessee Sinfonietta. Aside from working with his complicated equations and his musical pursuits, Brandon also enjoys traveling, playing games with family and friends, and getting invested in reality TV or cooking competitions.
