Biography

Brittany Schaffer joined Belmont as the Dean of the Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business in May 2023. Prior to joining Belmont, Brittany spent more than a decade in the music and broader entertainment industry, most recently at Spotify, in some way touching most every discipline within the Curb College.

As Spotify’s Head of Artist & Label Partnerships, Nashville, Brittany co-led Spotify’s Music Team in Nashville and helped lead the industry through the era-defining shift in music consumption habits. For more than five years she set the vision of the team and cultivated and nurtured industry partnerships across the greater Nashville market with artists, labels, songwriters, publishers, agencies, podcasters, and key industry organizations, helping Nashville’s biggest names and emerging talent connect with and grow their fanbase.  Brittany also co-led the development and execution of Spotify’s global strategy to grow the Country, Christian/Gospel, and Americana genres.

Prior to joining Spotify, Brittany practiced music and entertainment law at Loeb & Loeb, LLP, where she was Senior Legal Counsel. She advised and counseled established and emerging artists, songwriters, and producers in contract negotiations for recording, soundtrack, management, branding, endorsement, commercial, touring, and other new media agreements. She advised large corporations, including Fortune 500 companies, across a variety of industries (from consumer brands to sports entities to churches), in the development of music, copyright, and emerging media strategies and in the negotiation of sponsorship and endorsement agreements, strategic partnerships, and licenses across film, television, digital, and other new media formats.

Brittany is passionate about Nashville’s critical role in the entertainment ecosystem. She is an active member of the Board of Directors for both the Country Music Association and  the Academy of Country Music. Brittany also serves on the St. Jude Country Cares Advisory Board.

Brittany and her husband, T.J., are blessed with two adorable young children who bring them a lot of joy and perspective!
