Biography
(she/her/hers)
Degree/Training: Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University & Masters of Nursing, specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing.
Approach to Therapy/Mental Health Treatment:
I approach psychiatric assessment and treatment by acknowledging that each individual I work with is the THE EXPERT on their own body. I cannot know you better than you know you. I can however offer many years of experience, strength and hope as I walk alongside you and help support you finding the best solutions to live happily, joyously and freely.
In our work together, you can expect unconditional positive regard as I offer potential solutions and treatments based on education, experience with clients, and my own lived experience. I deeply believe that we were both wonderfully made to be just as we are, there are no failures, no “bad” clients or patients, and no judgments in our work together. My goal in our work is always for you to leave feeling more like yourself, and understanding that all of you, as yourself, is exactly what our world needs in it to make it great.
Working with students every day, makes my life better too, and so I am also eternally grateful to the individuals who place their trust in me as well.
Favorite Way to Destress: Laughing with my clients, colleagues, neighbors, friends, family, and pets. A lot. They say it’s the “best medicine”, which is my life’s work, after all. And I am nothing, if not committed to finding the best medicines.
Favorite Place to Unwind: Anywhere outdoors, ideally when the weather is between 65-75 degrees, and breezy! Belmont has so many grassy areas to walk barefoot in, flowers to look at, trees to behold, and friendly faces
