Biography 


Ed Magee is an accomplished C-Suite executive, combat veteran, and influential board leader, currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer of the Thomas F. Frist Jr. College of Medicine at Belmont University. With advanced degrees from Duke University, George Mason University, and the U.S. Naval Academy, Ed exemplifies a lifelong commitment to strategic leadership and operational excellence. 

In his role as COO at the Thomas F. Frist Jr. College of Medicine, Ed supports the mission to cultivate diverse physician leaders of character who embrace a whole-person approach to healing. He brings extensive expertise in global supply chain management, operations leadership, and strategic planning, gained from transformative roles at renowned organizations like Harley-Davidson, ABB, and Fender Musical Instruments Corporation.

Named 2024 Director of the Year: Emerging Board Leader by the Corporate Directors Forum, Ed was also named to Savoy Magazine’s 2024 Most Influential Corporate Directors List and is a 2025 Presidential Leadership Scholar. He serves on the Board of Directors for WD-40 and contributes to non-profit and advisory boards, including the Smithsonian SITES | Affiliations Board, Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee, NACD Nashville, where he chairs the chapter, and the Advisory Board for the Inman College of Nursing at Belmont University.
