Biography
Eric Holt brings over twenty years of experience in producing and promoting live music events, specializing in the live economy, concert promotion, music venue management, and Black culture. As co-founder of The Lovenoise Group, a Nashville-based independent concert promotions company focused on Black music, Holt has been instrumental in shaping Nashville's live music ecosystem.
Holt’s academic work includes developing courses such as Understanding the Live Economy, Venue Management, and The Business of Hip-Hop. He also was the lead professor establishing Belmont Atlanta and the dynamic Music Cities Maymester study away programs. His research highlights Nashville's live music industry, including co-authoring the Nashville Independent Venues Study, the most comprehensive analysis of independent music venues in the city. He also served on the steering committee for the Greater Nashville Music Census, the most recent in-depth study of Nashville’s music community.
A recognized authority on branding, marketing, and Black culture, Holt is a sought-after speaker at universities and corporate events, offering insights on leadership, strategic management, and team development. He also consults on branding and promotional strategies for entertainment and business professionals.
Holt remains deeply committed to community service, serving on national and local nonprofit boards such as the Give-A-Note Foundation, Nashville Public Radio, and the Nashville Jazz Workshop. He is a graduate of Leadership Music, a Chapter Governor for The Recording Academy, and a mentor for young industry professionals through the Black Music Action Coalition/Academy of Country Music OnRamp program.
In his free time, Holt enjoys attending concerts and traveling with his family.
