Biography
Hyangsook Lee is an Associate Professor of Media Production in the Department of Film, TV, and Media Production at Belmont University. She holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, where her dissertation explored the connection between brain processes and learning outcomes in visual-aided educational materials. In addition, Dr. Lee earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Engineering from Hong-Ik University, Seoul, Korea, blending her expertise in both education and technology. Dr. Lee teaches courses including Motion Graphics for Multimedia Production, 3D Motion Design, Augmented Reality Storytelling, and Data Visualization for Media.
With over 10 years of professional experience in visual communication, Dr. Lee’s research interests focus on the intersection of technology, creativity, and storytelling. She is currently exploring the use of generative AI in creative brainstorming for media production and the potential of mixed reality in shaping the future of storytelling. Dr. Lee’s work aims to bridge the gap between traditional media practices and emerging technological innovations, with a focus on how emerging tools can transform the creative process and enhance visual storytelling in the age of the mixed reality and generative artificial intelligence.
