Biography
Dr. Jessica Hocking received her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the University of Notre Dame, where she also completed doctoral minors in both Advanced Quantitative Social Science and Gender Studies. She largely teaches classes on Research Methods, Psychological Testing/Measurement, and the Psychology of Gender. Her research revolves around how body image, objectification, and identity influence the educational, physical, and social/emotional outcomes of girls. She is a licensed teacher in the state of Oregon and formerly taught 7th grade. Outside of Belmont, Dr. Hocking enjoys running, going to live music and theater events, and spending time with her dogs.
