Biography

Kate Pooler, MSSW, joined the School of Social Work team in January 2025. She supports the coordination of field education for students across social work programming. She loves building relationships with community partners and supporting students as they engage in learning opportunities in the field.
Kate’s background includes a Bachelor in Social Work from Belmont University (2017) and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee (2018). After graduation she worked in the social work field, most recently as the Director of Basic Needs at Catholic Charities, overseeing programming in the areas of Housing Stability, Emergency Assistance and Hunger Relief. She is passionate about macro social work, with experience leading collective impact work focused on prevention and diversion efforts in family homelessness. She has written and received grant funding to support the work of McGruder Artists in Residency in North Nashville, Eviction Prevention, and Rapid Rehousin
