Biography

Leigh is originally from southwestern Virginia and came to Nashville by way of Kentucky and Florida. She earned an undergraduate degree in Sociology and International Studies from University of Richmond, which afforded the opportunity to study abroad in Russia when it was still known as the Soviet Union. After college Leigh went on to earn a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY with a concentration in Pastoral Care and Counseling.

After seminary, Leigh and her husband, Shane, moved to Tallahassee, FL where Leigh worked nine years for Florida Baptist Children’s Homes, helping families become foster parents. At Belmont, Leigh worked with non-traditional students and also served as adjunct faculty prior to working for Belmont Global Honors, where she provides academic advising, admissions, study abroad planning and faculty support. She also enjoys taking classes for fun whenever possible.
